New Year Quilt
Now I have been thinking about what would be appropriate for a New Year’s Quilt and I have come up with the following:
You will need to …
Take a photograph of every single quilt you started this year in the state that it is currently in, whether it is finished or just one block, or no more than just a pile of fabric.
Now scan in your photographs and print each onto a piece of fabric. This will be one block.
You can pick the size of each block, but make sure that you have a 1/2” border around the edge of the picture you are printing.
Now design these pictures into a quilt top and start sewing them together until they form the top.
Get some batting and a piece of backing large enough for the quilt top and baste the three together.
Either hand or machine quilt the basted quilt.
Put on a border and a label.
There you have it a quilt showing you all the work you have done over the year along with all the work you were going to do or didn’t quite get time to finish.
Do this every year and these quilts cannot become your quilt log.
I hope you have fun with this, I haven’t quite finished mine yet as there is too much fabric to photograph and some of my quilts are no longer here in Canada but back in England.
