While I have managed to purchase a large number of quilting books over the last year and half, (much to my husband's dismay!), there are still millions out there.

Quilting related books can be purchased from most quilt shops, but if you don't have time to wander around the stores try looking for Quilting Books on Amazon just click this link and it will take you straight to the quilting books on Amazon.ca.

Australian Patchwork and Quilting Magazine is a my favourite of all the Quilting Magazines.  I try to buy one a week, in the hope that I will be able to catch up with the back issues I have missed.

Here is a list of books that I have found to be very useful:

Quilter's Complete Guide, Marianne Fons & Liz Porter This is a valuable reference book for all quilters.  This book covers everything - excellent.

The Quilters Ultimate Visual Guide, A Rodale Quilt Book From A to Z, hundreds of tips and techniques for successful quilt making with over 700 how to illustrations.  I don't know about you, but if I can see it sometimes it is much clearer than if I read it or hear it when learning how to do new things.  This book is a must for all quilters from beginners to advanced.

Hand Quilting with Alex Anderson When I attending the Hand Quilting course at Jilly Beans this was the book that accompanied the course.  A must have if you want to start improving those tiny little stitches!

Machine Quilting with Decorative Threads, Maurine Noble and Elizabeth Hendricks This is a wonderful book that explains clearly how to use different threads in your sewing machine.  There are chapters on thread through the needle, thread through the bobbin and threads you can couch with.

Sew a Row Quilts, Karen Hellaby You can now make your own unique quilts using the "Sew a Row" magic formula.  Karen got the idea from this book from the Victorian cross stitch samplers that were sewn in rows.  This technique is based on patchwork blocks sewn together in rows.

Taking the math out of patchwork quilts, Judy Martin I was fortunate enough to be able to borrow a friends copy, it is a wonderful tool.  Unfortunately, it is now out of print and I had to give it back.  So keep an eye out for it on ebay.ca.

The Ultimate Quilting Book, Maggi McCormick Gordon This was my first book on quilting, it is great and covers classic patchwork and appliqué quilts right through to modern day patchwork and appliqué quilts.

501 Quilt Blocks, Better Homes and Gardens This book has some 501 block patterns, projects along with some tips and techniques.

Grandma's Best Full-Size Quilt Blocks, Better Homes and Gardens This book is split into 5 chapters, 1830-1860, 1860-1890, 1890-1920, 1920-1950 and borders.  The full size (9") blocks are shown with pictures of the finished block, a suggested quilt top design using the block and details of how to construct the block.

Block Magic, Nancy Johnson-Srebro There are over 50 fun and easy patchwork blocks to make from squares and rectangles.

Around the Block Again, Judy Hopkins This is a wonderful book covering everything from using block patterns, planning your quilt, assembling your quilt, a gallery of blocks and block patterns as well as worksheets and templates.

Paper Piecing Picnic, Quilter's Newsletter Magazine and Quiltmaker Magazine This book contains fun filled projects for all quilters.

Forty Bright & Bold Paper-Pieced Blocks, Carol Doak This book contains 20 12" designs for paper piecing.

Rich Traditions Scrap Quilts to Paper Piece, Nancy Mahoney There are 17 paper pieced scrap quilt patterns in this book.

Paper Piecing, Alex Anderson This book is really easy to follow and includes tips, techniques and 6 projects, ideal for the first time paper piecer.

Clever Quilts, Susan Teegarden Dissmore This book is all about making the most of panel, border and theme print fabrics, of which I have purchased many and then not know what to do with them.  With this book I now have some answers and superb ideas.
